Hahndorf Medical Centre is the family practice which has been looking after the health of the local Hahndorf community, part of the beautiful Adelaide Hills, since circa 1930. The Hahndorf Medical Centre is an AGPAL accredited practice.
The clinic has 4 consulting rooms and is located on the main street of historical Hahndorf, one of the major tourist destinations of South Australia, and situated only 20 minutes from Adelaide via the South Eastern Freeway.
The clinic is next to the town pharmacy and a short walk away from a number of nursing homes in the area.
Hahndorf Medical Centre is classified as being located in an area of District Workforce Shortage (DWS).

Hahndorf Medical Centre provides a comprehensive range of general practice services, including Preventative Health, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Children’s Health, Aged Care, Family Planning & Obstetrics & Chronic Disease Management.
Hahndorf Medical Centre is a private billing practice. Consultation fees are payable in full at the time of consultation by cash, EFTPOS, or credit card. Medicare rebates can be deposited into your savings or cheque account at the same time. Pensioners, Centrelink Health Care Card holders, and children under 16 years of age are bulk billed on weekdays (i.e. no bulk billing available on weekends).
For telephone and telehealth consults, Medicare rebates only apply for patients who have attended the clinic previously within the last 12 months, unless a child less than 12 months old or experiencing homelessness. If you are uncertain, or are a new patient to the clinic, please call our clinic. This appointment type may incur a gap fee. Please contact our reception team for more information.

Patients with financial difficulties should speak with reception staff prior to an appointment, either in person or via telephone.
In addition to consultation fees, a materials fee will be charged for all dressings, materials used in procedures, contraceptives, and certain vaccines. The materials fee applies to all patients (including concession cardholders).

At Hahndorf Medical Centre, we use a secure automated SMS system to communicate with patients about results. Depending on the test that has been undertaken, a consultation may be required to receive results.
It is the patient’s responsibility to follow up on their test results, and we actively encourage our patients to be proactive in their healthcare and book an appointment for results before leaving the clinic.
We will make every effort to contact patients with abnormal results. However, it cannot be assumed that test results are normal if there is no contact from our clinic. Patients should be aware of the potential seriousness of not attending follow-up appointments, recalls, or investigations.
We appreciate feedback both positive and negative, and take concerns very seriously.
